CKD8C diesel locomotive is designed for Southeast Asian Railway and African Railway, which is meter-gauged freight electric-diesel locomotive on main line. This locomotive is installed with Cummins QSK60-L or CAT3516BHD diesel engine; track gauge is 10651067or1000mm; axle arrangement is Co-Co; axle load is not more than 16.5t and Max. speed is 120km/h.

This locomotive adopts three-phase AC-DC electric transmission mode. After the three-phase AC power from main generator driven by diesel engine is rectified, it will be transferred to six traction motors in parallel, and then traction motors drive the wheels via transmission gear.

This locomotive has good traction and brake performances, high reliability and transmission efficiency, low application and maintenance cost.
